Yeah, I dont know why I liked Team America so much....it really made me laugh (unlike South Park).

I think it's stupid. I wonder when SNL will have "Blacks in Space" featuring stereotypes eating fried chicken and watermelon? But then, what can you expect from a show that has an idiot like Ashlee Simpson as a "musical" guest TWICE?

SNL does suck now, but in their defense they do make fun of alot of different groups (past and present).

I did catch a re-run of when Robert DeNiro recently where his "son" in the sketch was ridiculously flamboyant and everyone thought he was gay except for him. I dunno. I could just be more sensitive to it because I tend to keep track. It was pretty unfunny but that's par for the course with SNL. It's sucked for a good long time. I didn't catch that skit though. I'm sure there's bound to be a backlash from the gayness that's sweeping america.

 - how true.

The "joke" is that everyone has a gay family member. When I read some of the hom*ophobic garbage posted in this thread I'm ashamed to be a member of this forum.

Really? Examples?

Giles01-24-06 02:40 PM

well if you look at the first page of this topic - some of the comments border on callous remarks.

Along the same lines, I wonder how many teenage girls went to see Brokeback because of the two "hot guys." Talk about an uncomfortable car ride for the phobic parents. :)

I put hot guys in quotations since I sure as hell don't agree with that assessment ;)

Yeah, my girlfriend really doesnt care for either of them. I think Jake G is attractive though. This definately is not 2005's Titanic though.

It might be the opposite of Titanic, actually. Jake and Heath are both straight whereas Leo.... ;)

Don't really care for him either. Too twinkie. And blonde. Yuk.

Man, I don't go for all that fab five sh*t. If a gal wants to hang out with me, she better like to sling back some beers, watch horror movies, and go DVD/CD bargain hunting. :)

I usually have to ask a female friend to go shopping when I am looking for new clothes. Beyond jeans/tee shirts/doc martins, I am clueless. :)

Heath doesn't do anything for me but Jake - if he were gay and like his character I could picture him being a voracious bottom. ;)

My point was very pointed actually. Yes, being gay is becoming more mainstream, but sadly for most people in america, the fem stereotype still exists.

Yep. While there are plenty of fem guys, there are also plenty who are not. I DO NOT want to be "best girlfriends" with a woman. Sure I have female friends but my relationships with them are not of the "fab five" type.

Well..all 5 of them are from NYC and here, a lot of that sh*t is everywhere. It's really hard to find a nice, romantic cutebut-not-shi-shi guy to watch a lotta movies with. It's like people feel the need to fit a stereotype in order to fit in. Whattaya gonna do?

No no, babe. I see tons of you 30-something guys dressing like twinks here in Chelsea. ;)

I actually really like the show for what it is. It's helped me a bit because for the most part, i'm just like you. Take me to The Gap and I'm cool. Nothing special. As long as I'm comfy, that's all that matters.

I hear those Christian conversion places are looking for guys like you. Give it a try. Supposedly, you can change. :p

Well, my favorite store is A&F still. :)

1) don't joke. I just had a friend come out to me that I've known for 7 years who has had such a hard time dealing with it that he's been a member of those groups for years. He also admitted himself into the ER because he was going to kill himself over it. Christianity is ridiculously f*cked up. He's considering not being bi or gay or whatever he is for his religion...because they told him if he's gay, he won't be allowed back to his parish.

2) You consider yourself a twink at 30 and shop at A&F? And you voted for Bush? You got more issues than Playboy.
